The lord of the keep was Macsen Wledig, a retired adventurer. The corporal of the watch in the original adventure isn't named (or if he was I missed it). If your group has a fighter, have her pester them to take her on as a squire. Sabine, the corporal of the watch in Return, would be in her early teens. Return is set 20 years later, so some of the people it mentions aren't around yet, or would be children. The people of the Yeomanry are predominantly of Oeridian and Sueloise stock, with a bit of Flanae, and speak a local Keoish dialect as well as Common. The titular borderlands become the foothills of the Crystalmists. For that to make sense you have to invert the map (north becomes south).
Return retroactively located the keep in the southwestern Yeomanry, in the World of Greyhawk. I remember both the castellan of the keep and the absent lord were given names too. Cuthbert.the inn is the Green Man and the tavern is the One-Eyed Cat, and the landlord's name is Beasley.that's all I remember, but I'll dig out my copy later tonight and see what else is there. I don't remember all of them now, but the Keep's name is Kendall Keep, the chaplain is Abercrombie and he's a cleric of St. When I was prepping my run through it, I paged through Return to the Keep on the Borderlands for names of prominent NPCs and locations.
